In addition to my work at ECSU:
I am in my third term as the Secretary of the Executive Board of the Defoe Society. While on the Board, I have served on the program committee for the Society's first two biennial conferences. I will also be serving on the planning committee for the Defoe Attributions Database, a new digital project that the Board has resolved to pursue.
I am a member of the Technical Review board for 18thConnect, an aggregator and peer-review body for digital scholarship in eighteenth-century studies.
I am a member of the planning committee for a Mellon Foundation-funded project called "Transforming the English Short Title Catalog into a 21st Century Research Tool," which aims to make the ESTC both a more interactive resource for scholars in the field—allowing user contributions and corrections, aong other things—and a more accessible resource for data mining by scholars in the digital humanities.
I belong to the usual array of professional organizations in my field, and have organized several panels at conferences over the years.
